Low Cost Sleep Apnea Monitor- Ganesh Nair

To tackle Sleep Apnea , a team of 6 engineering students have created a a cost effective diagnostic tool prototype for home use. This prototype is called Apnea and Rest Analysis Mask(ARAM).

It consists of 5 kinds of sensors ARAM is wearable ,reusable diagnostic mask for mass-screening at home. Various sensors are present within the mask of ARAM,including pressure sensor, microphone to measure snoring level and accelerometer to measure body movement.

It can be worn through the night as the captured data is uploaded on a server. The data is sent to a doctor online, who can recommend the treatment.

Team Members:
Trivikram Annamalai and Aditya Gupte from IIT-Bombay
Anchit Shrivastava from Mumbai University
Sujeeth Pareddy from BITS Pilani
Swadhin Thakker from VJTI
Dhruv Joshi from LG Prasad Eye Institute, has been working on this project since July last year.

This project is funded by MIT Media Lab.
