Biomedical engineers as Medical planners are involved in hospital projects during both : Design & Construction phase.

Role of Biomedical engineers during Design phase: Assessing the Client needs of Medical Equipment & Medical Furniture. Determining the Quantities, Types, Sizes, capacities of all medical equipment & medical furniture required for the project as per client needs. Estimating the equipment and furniture budgets required .

Provide the projects Architect and the Electro-Mechanical Engineers with all technical data and drawings required to prepare the electro-mechanical design: -Equipment dimensions -Floor loads -Needed electrical power and power consumption -Heat loss -Water and drainage connections locations -Medical gases

Define any safety or environmental requirements regarding equipment location

They Play a bridge role between medical staff and others engineers.
