OT Fumigator

Fumigation is a method of pest control that completely fills an area with gaseous pesticides—or fumigants—to suffocate or poison the pests within.

Surgical site infections (SSIs) are the second most common cause of hospital acquired infections. These complications of surgical procedures cause considerable morbidity.

Methyl bromide was among the most widely used fumigants.

To sterilize the operation theatre formaldehyde gas (bactericidal & sporicidal) is widely employed (cost effective) for fumigation. Formoldehyde kills the microbes.

Widely used fumigants include:
• Phosphine

• formaldehyde

• 1,3-dichloropropene

• chloropicrin

• methyl isocyanate

• hydrogen cyanide

• sulfuryl fluoride

• Iodoform

General procedure :
• Place 'OT Fumigator' inside the operation theatre.

• Pour in the formation & water into the dish from sides.

• Close and seal all the windows, ventilators openings and the door of the place to be disinfected.

• Plug in the unit's main cord.
